When I first started, I was very anxious. I remember coming to a Growth Leadership session and one of the questions was, ‘What do you see a successful director as?’ and my answer was ‘confident’, because that’s what I lacked quite a lot when I first started.

For me, it was about working on my confidence as a leader, but mainly getting systems in place. We had no systems in place, we didn’t have a positive culture in the centre, it was quite negative, and there was a lot of sickness. That was another big one that has completely changed now.

Working with HGT EDU, we started with a Mock Assessment and you picked up a lot of things that we needed to work on. Now I think, if we had another mock assessment, they would be amazing.
